REACH Regulation

As a distributor and/or importer of articles, we take our obligations under the REACH Regulation (EC 1907/2006) very seriously.

According to the definition in Article 3 point 3 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH), our products are articles because the specific form or shape determines the function to a greater extent than the chemical composition. Any lubricants or preservatives are considered an integral part of the article.

Articles as such are not subject to registration under REACH, but there is a notification obligation for substances of very high concern in articles if they are present in the article at a certain concentration. If Protempo uses a substance that is subject to disclosure due to changes in our knowledge, we will list it here.

In seals of ball bearings with plastic seals as plasticizer:

  • Bis-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) > 0.1%.
  • Benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP) > 0.1%.
  • Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) > 0.1%.
  • Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) > 0.1%.

In gas springs as an alloying element:

  • Lead (Pb) > 0.1%.

Confirmation of RoHS conformity

RoHS (Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances) is the Directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.

We confirm that our products comply with RoHS EU 2015/863 according to the RoHS Confirmation (see download) and do not contain the following substances above the specified concentration.

  • Lead (Pb)
  • Mercury (Hg)
  • Cadmium (Cd)
  • Hexavalent chromium (Cr VI)
  • Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB)
  • Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PentaBDE, OctaBDE, DecaBDE)

    Russian embargo

    We are aware of Article 3g, paragraph 1 (d) of Regulation No. 833/2014 (Russian Embargo Regulation) and therefore maintain a close dialogue with all our suppliers and regularly obtain assurances that they completely refrain from supplying products to us that contain Russian steel.

    KNOTT towing devices - Amendment to ECE R55 Regulation

    The KNOTT towing devices in accordance with ECE R55 are now approved by the KBA as standard in accordance with the 03 series of amendments to this regulation. The technical requirements for the KNOTT products remain unchanged. Only the approval numbers and markings are updated.     The GPSR pertains to non-food products marketed to consumers. It focuses on product safety, ensuring that a product poses no risks to the end user when used normally.

    As a wholesaler, Protempo B.V. only operates Business-to-Business and does not offer consumer products on the European market.
